  • 1.8 release branch is created. ~3 weeks for the release

  • Release notes updates - 

    • Alpha quality with minimal LTE testing done using srsRAN (UE attach & ping) on AWS graviton2 with Ubuntu 20.04/5.4 kernel running containerized AGW

    • Arm CI – Containerized AGW build job enablement on AWS graviton2

Arm Dev Summit in October at Sanfrancisco (https://devsummit.arm.com/flow/arm/devsummit22/home/page/lp):

• Magma Devops (@Timothee Dzik & @Shubham Tatvamasi ), Marc and Govind are going to talk and provide an update about Arm in Magma.

• Encourage partners and others to share your contributions and plans in Magma/Arm eco system:

  • Magma Devops are going to talk about Arm Test CI enablement and roadmap

  • Arm partners can provide an update about the enablement of containerized AGW on your devices. 

    • Sercom completed the sanity test with their Englewood Radio.

    • Hawk eye completed srsRAN test with OVS dkms work around (IPv6 fix) using 5.4.3 mainline kernel version. Test using mainline kernel >= 5.4.5 without workaround is pending.

    • Nexcom sanity test result ?

    • NXP FAE team can help ODM partners to migrate to mainline kernel version >= 5.4.45

Headless srsRAN test can be added in CI

Docker image for orc8r

Kubernetes based deployment of arm based orc8r and AGW images

Sercom: 5G SA test will be the next step. Arm to provide OVS dkms package.

Hawkeye: srsRAN test works fine, Upgrade to >=5.4.5 mainline kernel version, Integration test with Sercom radio

• Enabling Traffic test in Arm CI:

  • S1AP tester build issues are fixed on Arm : https://github.com/magma/S1APTester/pull/86 patch is merged. LTE integ test will be performed in a 3 node/VM topology as a next step. Arm partners & Magma devops can help here to do this test manually and automate it in CI. https://github.com/magma/magma/tree/master/lte/gateway/python/integ_tests If this is getting delayed, we can automate srsRAN test in headless mode.

  • Enabling containerized S1AP test 

    • https://github.com/magma/magma/pull/11308 – Open PR created by Meta and now owned by TNG team.

Start the test with 3 node topology and then converge to PR 11308

Node1 (S1AP tester) – Node 2 (containerized AGW) – Node3(trfgen)

Enable this CI job in graviton2 as well as in Arm ODM partner systems.
