Updates on Release 1.9

  • #15164: td-agent version pinning
  • #15217: NMS yarn test (unit test) failing
  • #15222: Summarizing the current state of CI Issues.
  • Discuss DevOps workflows for patch-level semvers if we move from 1.9 to 1.9.0 label. Can we have smaller + more frequent releases?

Sikander-Wavelabs

  • Yogesh → blockers for 1.9 are done, security issues remain, undecided if all in scope for 1.9
  • Yogesh → Devops activity tracker link. (please provide feedback)
  • Yogesh Link for modules tracking (by next tsc meeting all modules should be covered)
  • Kader ->create feature proposals. Yogesh will breakdown #15254 into smaller proposals (< 15 man days if possible)

Aug 7 14 Updates/Notes

    • Yogesh - 15279, blocker - temp workaround. Is someone able to update packages for older builds (essential fix we need immediately, priority issue). Credentials for uploading package to jfrog? Reach out to Max to understand how this was done in the past.
      • Tapas - who will test the package? Rely on community, post to slack/GH
      • Rely on sanity checks
    • Ben check with LF IT on jfrog credentials, if not check with Max.
  • Yogesh sec related issues, prioritized prs, updated posted to sec slack channel.
  • Lucas will have technical discussion with Jordon on architecture on what is in/out of this release
  • Yogesh devops, questions on proposal?
  • Lucas - if feasible propose bylaw change so that if someone does not vote at all they lower the majority threshold.
  • Ben update with voting resultsJordan - we as a community need to create written rule(s) on what versions we do and do not support. So that folks have predictability when there is a new release.
    • Yogesh will create an issue for discussion.

Aug 14 Updates

  • August Town Hall - We are not prepared for an Aug 22 date. Several alternative ideas were discussed. As a result we intend to proceed as follows:
    1. Shorten the Town Hall to cover primarily two items - (a) Transition of Magma to LFC and (b) 'Magma Community Edition' updates in the form of starter kits and docs availability
    2. Move the town hall to August 29th
    3. Plan for a joint LFC-Magma townhall in September

  • Action items:
    1. (Som) write up the townhall planner in the proposed format
    2. (Som) Create a one-pager for items that will be a 'Magma Community Edition' starter kit
    3. (Som) check with LFC team for availability and support for the Townhall on 8/29
