• there is no explanation what a valid sign-off is, other than the required DCO check in the CI
• there is also https://github.com/magma/community/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md#developers-certificate-of-origin, which is a little bit clearer, but not in the right repository

Possible resolution:

  • This PR clarifies the DCO in the
  contributing-code documentation (or even better to "
  • file /DCO.md , which is referenced from /CONTRIBUTING.md
  ")

    • ... that the sign-off corresponds to the DCO and that one should be aware of the implications,
    • ... what a valid sign-off requires (e.g. regarding pseudonyms or anonymous contributions)
